Project Overview

US POWER executed a full residential solar-plus-storage system on a composition shingle roof in Van Nuys, CA. The installation was designed to offset elevated utility consumption, deliver long-term energy savings, and provide backup power capabilities for resiliency.

System Specifications & Key Components

• Solar Panels: 48 high-efficiency solar panels designed for maximum output in the Van Nuys climate.
• Battery Storage: Integrated system using a battery-storage solution from Enphase, enabling excess solar energy to be stored and utilized during grid outages or peak times.
• Inverter/Optimization: Microinverter configuration was chosen (“microinverter system for panel-level optimization”) to enhance reliability and per-panel performance.
• Electrical Integration: The system connected to the home’s main service panel with a dedicated solar breaker, complete utility coordination and permitting handled by US POWER.

• Roof-friendly installation: The project maintained the existing roof structure without major roof teardown or invasive modifications, minimizing homeowner disruption.
• Battery-backed resilience: With Enphase storage integrated, the homeowner gains increased self-consumption and backup power during outages or grid instability—a growing concern in Southern California.

• End-to-end execution: US POWER handled the entire process from permitting to inspection, alleviating administrative burden for the homeowner.
